The Eagle Gala

Friday January 29, Lexington Christian Academy held its second annual Eagle Gala. Although this year has been a tough year for everyone this gala was a bright light. Last year’s gala was a success with all the money raised, so expectations were high this year, and organizers were not disappointed. Although this year’s Eagle Gala had to be an online, there was still great success.

Jennifer Hurst, the Director of Advancement played a huge role in this year’s Eagle Gala. A major reason for the Eagle Gala is to raise enough money to cover the gap in the budget that exists between the amount of money the school takes in from tuition and the amount needed for all the programs in the school. Ms. Hurst states that, “The Gala provides LCA with the essential operating dollars that bridge the GAP between our tuition revenue and the full cost of providing a quality Christ centered Christian education for our students.” Jennifer Hurst stated that the goal was to raise $120,000. She added that the event raised more than expectations with a total of $153,611 dollars!

Lesley Sizemore-Hardin, Director of Admissions and Marketing, also played a big role in this years gala. She really wished that this year’s gala could be held in person but was thankful it was even able to happen in this crazy year, she said, “Although I was disappointed we could not meet in person, I was thankful technology provided us with a medium to celebrate all the wonderful things God is doing at our school.”

Missy Thomas, Elementary Administrative Assistant, was able to watch this year’s gala online and really enjoyed it. There are multiple reasons why the Eagle Gala is important to our school, Mrs. Thomas exclaimed that, “The Eagle Gala is important so that we can all come together as one school to bridge the gap for the current school year and also help with any extra expenses that may come up.” She is very excited to see what next year’s gala will bring to the table.
