Starbucks: Holiday Season

Starbucks: Holiday Season

Friday, November third, officially marks the start of the Christmas season at Starbucks. Each year people anxiously wait for their favorite Christmas drink. On the menu in this holiday season is, Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, and Eggnog Latte. All of these drinks come in both hot and cold. Along with coming in a Christmas themed cup. Also if you order any of these holiday drinks it will come with a free reusable Christmas cup, while supplies last!

I decided to try the Peppermint Mocha, without the espresso because I am not a coffee person. Overall the drink was amazing, including the Christmas cup it came in because I love the holiday season. Although I know its mocha, the chocolate was a bit overpowering and extremely rich. I love chocolate but, it could probably be toned down a bit. Something else that I love about Starbucks is that even if you aren’t a coffee person like me, there is always something for you.

Now let’s talk about the reusable red cups that you get for free with any holiday beverage. In 2015 Starbucks’s red cups sparked a big controversy. Of course the red cup sparked the controversy with election and religion issues. People claim that the red cup is taking away from Christianity and siding with a certain side of politics. Now when I went and got a reusable cup from Starbucks, all of that was never running through my head, its just a red cup. Eater.com states that the first Christmas cup that ever came out was in 1997. This means that there was many, many years in between the start of the red cups and the beginning of the controversy. I don’t believe that there should be any issues over a simple red cup, we should enjoy the things we can. We shouldn’t spend our days complaining, just enjoy it.
