With the school year nearing an end, students are all wondering about the events that traditionally mark the end of a school year. What about Prom? What about Graduation? Awards? The LCA staff has been closing watching the restrictions put in place by the governor and plans to reopen the economy.  With hopes that Kentuckians will be allowed to gather together again, the staff has rescheduled many of these events to July. The hope is that most places will be opened back up and that the strictest orders keeping people at home will be eased.

There will be a virtual Baccalaureate that will be able to be accessed on the LCA website on Sunday, May 17. It will also be available on DVD for purchase. Almost a month later will be the in-person graduation. On Friday, July 10 at 7pm the ceremony will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church. Shortly after that, the 2020 prom will be held on July 18 at 8pm. The theme is “The Roaring Twenties” and tickets will be $30 a ticket. Students will be able to purchase tickets soon. Of course, all these plans are subject to the Governor’s orders and changes may still be made.  For now, though, this gives seniors and their families some hope of a way to make this milestone in their lives special.
