Celebrating Easter Remotely

This year, Easter was a little bit different than usual. With no churches open, families had to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from home. Most churches in Lexington put on an online service for people to watch. Senior Chase Widmer, 12, said, “We watched live church on the TV and I got to eat a lot of candy. It is a bummer that we did not get to see anyone, but considering the circumstances, it was a good day.” It seemed like the candy in Lexington still got purchased and eaten. It is important to remember the true reason for the day. Jesus beat death and saved us from our sin. Just because we were forced to stay inside does not mean that the day loses value. Hopefully our students celebrated the day well.
