Eagles Continue to Cook

The Eagles had to bring their A-Game this week against two very physical, defensive minded teams. To start off their week, the boys took on Tates Creek in  a game that felt like could have been a district semi-final game. Both teams battled all game, neither team ever giving up. Tates Creek’s defense mixed with the Eagle’s hard-to-stop offense paired up well for a great game. Both teams went back and forth in the final stretch, but Tanner Walton was the X-Factor. He could not be stopped. Walton carried the Eagles with 29 points to a close, 67-65 win.

Friday the boys had senior night against the number one defensive team in the state:  Anderson county. Broyles and N’Dia started for the first time all year and off the bat it looked like the Eagles were going to have fun on their senior night. The Eagles’ offense gave problems for the opponent and for the first time all year, Anderson county looked stumped on how to guard. Due to both team’s slow pace offenses, the game came down to the final possessions. With 10 seconds left, Anderson county had the ball, down 1. They in-bound the ball then try to reverse it the wing, but the ball was intercepted by Abrahamson who took it in for a lay up to secure a 3 point Senior Night victory for the Eagles. Final: Eagles -45, Anderson County- 42.
