Boys’ Basketball: Undefeated after Week 1

The boys’ basketball team took on Bluegrass United on Tuesday night and Western Hills on Thursday; both games ended in a win for Eagle Nation. In Tuesday night’s game the Eagles got off to a rough start, leading by only two at halftime. But by the time the second half rolled around, the Eagles found their mojo and kicked it into first gear. Aaron Abrahamson (Sr.), Zeke Grier (Sr.), and Tanner Walton (So.) combined for 62 out of the Eagles’ 70 total points. The final score of the game was LCA 70, Bluegrass United 51. Walton finished with 25, Abrahamson with 20, and Grier had a total of 17 points. After the game Coach Hall told the boys, “We had to get a feel for the game in the first half, but in the second we started to make good decisions, play defense, and hit our shots… It was a great win.”

The Eagles then went on the road to play a well-rounded Western Hills team on Thursday night. The boys got off to a great start and never looked back. They held the momentum and controlled the pace the entire game. The final score was 61-49, the Eagles again on top. Walton finished with another 25 point game with help again from Grier with 13 and Abrahamson with 12. Before the game Coach Seamands told the boys to, “Have a great start, communicate, and execute,” and they did just that.

The boys’ basketball team looks to continue their dominance as they play Buckhorn this Saturday at 4:30.
