On Tuesday, thousands of Kentuckians flocked to the polls to vote. Democrat Andy Beshear ran against the current Republican governor, Matt Bevin. Matt Bevin was governor for four years before Andy Beshear took his spot in office this week after an extremely close race. He had 49.2% of the votes (709,846), while Bevin had 48.8% (704,760).  After such a close race, Bevin has refused to concede the election to Beshear. Even though it was a tight race, Bevin is demanding a re-canvas. Some think this makes the former governor look a little petty. After the results, many think Kentucky is changing from their traditional right-wing beliefs, but the Republicans won every other election race. This suggests it was a vote against the person Matt Bevin, not the Republican party.
