LCA student athletes are receiving much recognition for their outstanding achievements. Seniors Laney Frye and Jansen Preston continued to add to their golf legacy after their season was over. Laney Frye won Kentucky’s Miss Golf for the second year in a row and was selected to be on the Kentucky Girls’ Golf 1st team. Jansen Preston had another dominant season and was selected into the Kentucky Boys’ Golf 1st team. Sophomore Anna Rupp led the girls’ cross country team to another first place 5th region finish, the program’s sixth in a row. She also won the 2019 Midway University/KHSAA Female Cross Country Student Athlete of the Year. On the boys side, Junior Connor Hayes took over in the region meet, coming in 1st place yet again with a minute margin of victory. You can expect to see more first place finishes this weekend as both of the runners are favorites to win their respected state races.
