LCA Soccer Takes on Districts

Both the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams were faced with a difficult district tournament playing in arguably the best district in the state, the 43rd. The girls opened up their district run against Lafayette at Lexington Catholic. The game was intense as it came down to a shootout to determine the winner. After the nerves and excitement had settled, LCA came out on top winning round one with the score of 2-1. In the ext round they faced their toughest opponent yet, one of the state’s top girls’ soccer teams, Tates Creek High School. Unfortunately the score predictions reigned true, as Tates Creek blew LCA out of the water finishing the game with a 7-1 loss for our Eagles. That ended our Lady Birds run in the playoffs.

As for the boys, they didn’t have quite the fate that the girls did. They were matched up with a very tough Lafayette boys team that was hungry for the win. Ultimately the Generals came out on top 2-0, sending our boys flying on home. Both teams, however, had an incredible season and everyone is excited for their return to the pitch in 2020.
