Last Thursday September 5, the girls’ soccer team shutout Model. The Eagles scored five goals, three of them coming from seniors. Riley Fairchild, Sydney Colon, and Micah Green all finished with a goal a piece. Caroline Hensley, 10, was one goal short of a hat trick, but the offense was not the only thing going in the team’s favor. The Eagle defense was the star of the show. Allowing no goals, along with two saves from Hadley Whipple, 10, Model stood no chance against the defensive anchors the Lady Eagles posses. After their dominant performance, Riley Fairchild, 12,  was adamant about the players not losing their focus on the future: winning All “A” Region.  She explained, “It was a great team win, but we have to be ready for Sayre this Saturday.” After this win, the Eagles look to be the favorites for the Region title.
