Our very own Eagles made the three hour trek to Eastern Kentucky on Friday August 30, to take on Belfry in the Pike County Bowl. The team had a tough week of practice preparing for one of the top 3A schools in the state. The team showed up ready to play, after allowing a score on their first defensive stand, their offense struck quickly taking the lead 7-6 early in the 1st quarter. From there, the two teams battled back and forth on the scoreboard leaving the score 26-20 Belfry heading into the 4th. Belfry’s ground and pound game wore the Eagles out after a scoreless 4th quarter by LCA left the final score at 39-20 Belfry. Sophomore Left Tackle Anthony Johns had this to say about the results, “The game was hard hitting  and was going to show who is the men amongst the boys. Even in a loss we still proved we can hang with the best.”

Lexington Christian certainly has their hands full, as they travel to Ohio to take on a tough Cincinnati Christian Hills team this Friday, September 6.
