Reflecting on the Senior Class

With a month left in this school year many of the seniors will soon be heading off to college. When we look back at this senior class and all of the major accomplishments they have acquired it is truly amazing. For example the men’s basketball team won three district championships and brought the basketball team to an all time high here in Lexington. Many students like Conor Harrison, 12, were very happy to be a part of such a great team. He said, “he wouldn’t trade the moments he spent with his brothers with anyone else.” This senior class also brought much success to the football program and that is something we have not seen since winning state. The cheer team also adds to this list as they ended up winning nationals, and what an opportunity that was for our school. The cheer team not only brought much recognition to themselves for college, but they brought some to the school as well.

Setting sports aside, many of these seniors have impressive accomplishments in academics as well. With a record number of students selected for the Governor’s Scholars Program, this intellectually gifted class brought much success to the school, including bringing up the school ACT  average. As the school is soon to come to a close, seniors are getting reflective. Madeline Pulliam says, “it has been an amazing run here at LCA as every memory I made here was great and the teachers were outstanding.” Matthew Johnson says, “Baseball has been amazing blessing in my life and LCA has helped me achieve my goal of committing to a college to play.” In the end, most seniors are grateful for all of the memories they have made at LCA.
