The girls’ softball team is looking for a great season this year, headed up by experienced upperclassmen with talent that has been recognized beyond Lexington. For the first time in school history, the team has three players who have committed to play at the collegiate level. The three who have attracted the attention of college scouts include Elise Shewmaker,12, Millie German, 12, and Olivia Paris, 11. Elise has signed to play for Lipscomb University in Nashville Tennessee.  She plays second base and plans to pursue a career as a dietitian. Millie has committed to Cedarville in Ohio, where she plans to pursue a career in the medical field. Olivia Paris, who still has another year of high school, has already announced her intention to play for Bellarmine University in Louisville after her graduation in 2020. She is a catcher and plans to become a physical therapist or physicians assistant.

With these three players in key roles, the team is excited to begin their season. It all starts on Friday with the game against Christian Academy of Louisville.
